The Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoleta was the scene of a tragic road accident that claimed the life of a Brazilian tourist on the morning of January 1, 2025. The incident occurred at the intersection of Avenida del Libertador and Alvear, when a woman driving a Nissan Kicks lost control of the vehicle, collided with a traffic light pole and went up onto the sidewalk, where she hit a couple of Brazilian tourists who were waiting to cross the street. The man, approximately 60 years old, died on the spot, while his partner was transferred to the Fernández Hospital with multiple injuries.
