Often, especially on smaller farms, you still see feeding technology without a mixing device. But the animals cannot select out only homogeneous rations. We wanted to know how to best mix and distribute the feed and therefore compared three different systems on one of our test farms: As a so-called zero variant, the company's own, towed 5 m³ feed mixer TrailedLine Smart 5 from Siloking was used as an external filler. This is certainly the most classic system, but it requires a total of three machines. The tractor-towed, 5 m³ self-filler Gigant 500 from Trioliet offers the same nominal volume as the external filler, but does not require a loading vehicle. The feed mixing and distribution bucket MB1500 from Sieplo has a nominal volume of 2 m³. Attached to a wheel or telescopic loader, this machine is particularly advantageous for smaller portions. Its compact dimensions make it particularly at home in narrow stable buildings. You can now read the individual test reports for the machines in top agrar 11/2020.
