????Rome is the most populous city in Italy and also its capital. It is located 810 km from Budapest in the middle of the Apennine Peninsula. ????Its population is 2.8 million and the city is also home to the smallest independent state in the world, the seat of the Pope, or the Vatican.???????? ☀️????Its weather is typical of Mediterranean cities in that summers are hot and winters are mild. ????The currency is the euro, as Italy is an EU member state. ⏰The time zone is the same as ours, so the time there is the same as in Hungary. ????For entry, since it is an EU member state, a Szemely ID card is sufficient for Hungarian citizens. ????✈️By road from Budapest through Slovenia, 1,200 km. There is no highway vignette, but there are toll gates, which are not so cheap and fuel prices are quite expensive compared to Hungary! Prices for 2020 are between 500-540 forints per liter. The gate fees from the Slovenian border to Rome are about €50 and the same back, so a hundred. In euros! Plus the Slovenian weekly vignette, which is €15. By plane, we can fly directly from Budapest with Wizzair, Ryanair and Alitalia.
