How are the first words formed?” In this video, neuropediatrician María José Mas reveals the stages of neurodevelopment and the future implications of the first thousand days of a human being's life. María José Mas is a pediatrician and neuropediatrician with decades of experience, who combines medical practice with scientific dissemination. She was responsible for the launch of the first Neuropediatrics unit in the province of Tarragona, and the driving force behind this specialist clinic at the Tarragona Joan XXIII University Hospital, at the Pius Hospital in Valls and the Xarxa Sanitaria i Social de Santa Tecla, while also working as a university lecturer at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She proposes an observation of brain development, not only as stages of learning, but as a prelude to the skills that human beings will need to use for the rest of their lives. “We can stimulate the child's intelligence, providing them with stimuli at all times so that they can learn. In reality, it is only about promoting the survival of the person at each moment of their development, something more interesting than thinking that neurodevelopment is only a stage of life that has the purpose of being an adult,” says the neuropediatrician, who shares her extensive experience on the popular blog 'Neuronas en crecer' and in the books 'La aventura de tu cerebro' and 'El cerebro en su laberinto'. #AprendemosJuntos
