We set off from Royan for a journey to the Cordouan lighthouse, one of the most incredible sites in New Aquitaine, which stands at the entrance to the Gironde estuary 7 km out to sea. Built 400 years ago, its architecture is grandiose and its history extraordinary. We will take the opportunity to revisit other beautiful stories, starting with the Château de la Mercerie in Charente. Created in the 20th century by the Réthoré brothers, characters with excessive ambitions, it was saved from ruins and has endured through time thanks to the inhabitants of the village.
