The Ticino is the second largest river in Italy in terms of water flow and flows between Piedmont and Lombardy, mostly within the vast Lombardy regional park of the same name, crossing what remains of the ancient Po Valley forest and feeding a mosaic of wetlands, springs and canals that are a source of biodiversity and a resource for agriculture. More and more breeders and farmers have understood that water is a good that is only borrowed, to be returned unaltered to its natural bed, and who therefore practice cultivation methods that respect the environment and the landscape that makes the Ticino valley a unique place.
