Invented in 1831 by Michael Faraday, transformers are devices that work through the induction of current according to the principles of electromagnetism, that is, it works based on the electromagnetic principles of the Faraday-Neumann-Lenz Law and Lenz's Law, which states that it is possible to create an electric current in a circuit once it is subjected to a variable magnetic field, and it is because this variation in magnetic flux is necessary that transformers only work with alternating current.
