Many call it the Trochita, others know it as the Old Patagonian Express. The truth is that this was the Southern Railway Service that linked Esquel with Ingeniero Jacobacci, a station where one could connect with the train that went from Bariloche to Buenos Aires. This service operated until 1993, the year in which the Argentine railways were finally dismantled. From that moment on, both the province of Río Negro and the province of Chubut took over its operation and transformed it into a tourist train that no longer makes the entire route, but instead operates in sections (with a few exceptions).
