His teachers, among others, were his own parents, Tuan Guru Haji Ahmad Mughni, from whom he gained a lot of knowledge, especially regarding inner knowledge (the science of Sufism). Jurisprudence specifically studied with Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Wahab (Kampung Qadli Barabai). Knowledge of the Arabic language, especially knowledge of Nahwu, was acquired from Tuan Guru Haji Hasan and Tuan Guru Haji Saleh Barabai.
