We can carry on as before or we can finally start hunting effectively and in a contemporary way. In the ÖJV we want to campaign for sustainable hunting in accordance with our guidelines. In doing so, we want to break down prejudices that society has against hunting. On the one hand, this means maintaining respect for wild animals as fellow creatures. On the other hand, however, it also means meeting the interests of land ownership and the demands of society. To this end, species-rich game populations with native animal species that are adapted to the respective habitat are sought. The aim is to create, preserve and promote near-natural habitats. In particular, site-specific forest communities with a diverse indigenous flora and fauna should be supported by hunting.
