This video is part of the many videos that are part of the online training 'Your horse vertically and laterally straight and horizontally in balance'. In it we follow different combinations that started from a 0-line with this method. In this video you see Lisette's young stallion, named Nino. We offer him this exercise for the first time in that training. Version 1 of this exercise is already familiar to him, version 2 goes a bit deeper into the lower back and the loin area of the horse. A bigger challenge, with certainly also a great effect on loosening the long back muscle. To understand what I am talking about in the video, I will explain below what is being talked about. Version 1 of this exercise: Creating a lateral stretch by means of position (contrast position or inside position). If the back loosens and the horse reaches the forward downward tendency, then the horse may leave the position and follow what he can give/follow at that moment in terms of relaxation and space. The looser the back, the further and more stable the horse follows. Eventually your horse will no longer need the position to continue moving forwards and downwards. Version 2 of this exercise: Version 2 gives an extra effect on the body (especially for the lower back and core stability). The result in version 2 is to create a duo stretch on the body. An effect in which your horse combines a lateral stretch with a downward stretch. The effect on the lower back on the convex side in particular is extra and the muscles that are too tense in this area are helped to release/loosen this tension. Anyone who does Yoga themselves will certainly recognize this feeling. Positions head-neck position: Level 1 below knee height Level 2 knee height Level 3 nose at bow height, ears at withers height Level 4 erection Good luck!
