At the end of May 2014, Michel Pasquier presented himself at the gendarmerie in La Tour in Haute-Savoie. The man was worried sick: for a week, the van of his neighbor and friend Jean-Luc Thiébault had not moved and the carpenter, a hard worker, had not given the slightest sign of life. Immediately, the gendarmes decided to pay a little visit to the father, 48 years old and divorced. In his house, time seemed to have stopped. The calendar had not been updated since May 27, rotting food was lying around in the kitchen, a bottle of wine was broken on the floor but no trace of Jean-Luc. Where is Jean-Luc Thiébault? Mystery. The only lead for the gendarmes: according to the carpenter's relatives, he was having a relationship with a certain Fabienne Evangelista, the wife of José Evangelista, a former municipal councilor well known in the region. When heard, the respectable mother admits that in reality, she was indeed the craftsman's mistress. But that's ancient history. For 10 days, she hasn't seen him either. However, the rest of the investigation suggests a much more tragic scenario: on May 29, the carpenter's vehicle is found with a broken window near José Evangelista's work... And above all, a month later, the lover's body is discovered in a hole in Saint-Jean-de-Tholomé, not far from the former elected official's home. Did José Evangelista, the deceived husband, eliminate his wife's lover? And what role did Fabienne play?
