“Stroke and vascular diseases have a common root: atherosclerosis,” emphasizes Professor László Csiba. Stroke is a common disease in Hungary. Worldwide, 12 million new stroke cases occur annually, of which 6.6 million patients die each year. The number of diseases is gradually increasing. In his presentation shown here, Professor Csiba draws attention to the fact that every fourth stroke is caused by blockage of the carotid arteries, and the high incidence of the disease can be reduced by focusing on prevention. In other words, by detecting and treating atherosclerosis before symptoms appear. The thickening of the vascular walls can be treated and reversed!
