Today is Education Monday: Sebastian will turn you into real interior design professionals today! This time, the Westwing Academy will be all about the Westwing interior design trends for 2021. Of course, we will also show you which pieces from the Westwing Collection go best with which trend. Have fun! 1. Global Nomads: The name says a lot about the trend. With all the digitization and globalization of our world, interior design from everywhere has suddenly found its way into the world. And that's exactly what it's about. The Global Nomads trend does not involve a specific material from a specific country, but rather it's about creating a global look. Materials such as concrete are mixed with jute, wood or rattan. This creates a very exciting mix, even though the room is basically designed in calm colors such as beige. Special accents are also set with organic shapes. 2. New Cosmopolitan: This trend is very typical for Westwing. Because it is glamorous, but in a grown-up way. The old glam was very loud with lots of accessories, whereas the New Cosmopolitan look is much more reduced. This style is also a confident and representative style. It is artsy at the same time, but never over the top or too much. This look is classic, modern and cool at the same time. The color concept is simple tones: there is a lot of white, gray and cream that meet forest green, light pink or petrol. 3. Majestic Modern: We are particularly in love with the Majestic Modern trend. It's about a modern look that is also incredibly eye-catching. That's why we like it so much, because there aren't so many rules. It's about having fun, not taking yourself too seriously and mixing lots of colors. A very important word in this trend is "revival": we will find lots of icons from the 70s, general retro shapes and lots of vibes from the 90s. And in no other trend are colors as important as in Majestic Modern - "color blocking" is the order of the day here! 4. Country Core: The country house style has had a big revival in the last year. This also has a lot to do with the current lifestyle and conditions. We like to spend more time in the country than in overcrowded cities and it gives us a feeling of stability. Of course, country house style always includes floral patterns. With Country Core, these classic elements are used much more sparingly and in a more targeted way. It should look more like the individual objects are collector's items. These are mixed with rough natural materials and clean, modern items. This means that the look does not appear overloaded, so there is no excess of flowers and ruffles, but we stay in 2021.
