In this video lesson we begin the study of thermodynamics with the concept of work. We will initially see how to calculate the work of a gas for an isobaric transformation (constant pressure) and we will do a simple analysis when the gas provides or removes energy through its expansion or contraction. Finally, we will see in the general case how to calculate the work when the pressure is not constant and we will apply these concepts in an exercise from UFES 2016. A fluid expands from the state to the state as indicated in the diagram in the figure. Analyzing this information, it is correct to state that the work done in this expansion, in is equal to a) b) c) d) e)
