Today we would like to introduce you to a very friendly, rich and happy country. Here, 80% of the territory is still uninhabited, there is almost no paper money in the country. Just 10 years ago, 97% of the population had Internet, there is no army or navy here. Here you can often see unlocked doors of houses, keys on car seats and children in strollers left unattended at the entrance to a cafe, bar or store. There is no McDonald's or casinos here, but there is quality education that you don't have to pay for, and the same free energy for people. The country is guarded only by border guards, and the police do not carry guns. So children can walk alone without any problems. There are very few insects here and absolutely no mosquitoes or even forests. Perhaps, this is the only place on Earth where even the most cowardly tourist can pitch a tent in the most remote wilderness and sleep peacefully. The water is so pure that it flows into kitchen taps without any preliminary cleaning or filtration. This is a country with 100% literacy, and also the world leader in book sales per capita. For many years, this wonderful country has been included in the top ten countries with the best standard of living. Such a place exists, it is not a fairy tale or fiction. It is enough to come here once and really understand that this is a reality that is closer than we thought! This is Iceland ... Global Finance magazine presented a rating of the safest countries on the planet in 2019. Iceland came in first place. Experts calculated the security index of countries based on a number of parameters, including the possibility of war, crime rate and personal safety of residents, level of economic development and the likelihood of a natural disaster. Switzerland follows Iceland in the rating, Finland closes the top three. Also in the top twenty are such countries as Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, etc. The United States was only in 65th place due to the high level of violent crime. And Russia became 108th. Experts explain this by the economic downturn and the increased danger of the state for the world community. Iceland is a proud and daring Western state. This image was formed long before the successes of the national football team - in the 20th century, a small island country managed to bend the entire NATO bloc several times, blackmailing London and Washington by establishing relations with the Soviet Union. If during the Cold War everything rested on the fishing industry, then ten years ago Iceland managed to simply spit on all European partners, to whom the republic owed billions of euros.
