Contact: [email protected] The theory of relativity and quantum mechanics - in one interesting approach by Prof. Andrzej Dragan and Prof. Artur Ekert ???? https://patronite.pl/radionaukowe ???? https://radionaukowe.pl/ You might think that Einstein is turning in his grave*. Not only did he hate quantum mechanics, but we also claim that this theory results from his special theory of relativity - says Prof. Andrzej Dragan from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw and the National University of Singapore on Scientific Radio. You just have to break a certain "taboo". - By allowing for the description of superluminal observers, we can basically recreate the most important features of quantum mechanics - adds the physicist. Taking superluminal observers seriously was Prof. Dragan's idea. Prof. Artur Ekert, the creator of quantum cryptography, who was nominated for the Nobel Prize, became interested in it. Together they refined the concept and published an article entitled "Quantum principle of relativity" in the "New Journal of Physics" As Andrzej Dragan says, although "at first glance it looks like something completely crazy", so far no one has pointed out any obvious contradiction. But wait, how can one seriously consider physics taking into account superluminal observers? - The speed limit of light cannot be exceeded by accelerating any body. It cannot be done, we do not have that much energy. But for the same reason it would not be possible to slow down a superluminal body below the speed of light - explains the physicist. - From the perspective of our work, it does not matter at all whether these particles exist or not. (...) The special theory of relativity itself allows for the existence of particles of different types, including superluminal ones - he adds. - We generally study the consequences of the special theory of relativity itself, as if nothing else was known about the world. These consequences are such that the world seems non-deterministic, that certain objects will move along many trajectories at once, will be in many places at once, exactly as quantum mechanics predicts - says the guest of Radio Naukowe. And it all goes back to Galileo and his parrot. Listen to the podcast, in which we also talk about how Andrzej Dragan thinks, whether he feels like a rebel and whether we are smart or stupid. I recommend it. It is possible that he would be interested after all. Twitter's Albert Einstein recommended the work of Dragan and Ekert to readers ;) ????
