Germany is in the midst of a crisis. But the rich are not affected. The documentary takes a look at the secretive and elitist world of millionaires and billionaires. What do the rich think of themselves and their privileges? The documentary follows the CEO of a well-known luxury watch brand on the French Atlantic coast. He criticises Germany for over-regulating its entrepreneurs and believes that risk-takers should be rewarded. A wealthy building contractor from Düsseldorf explains that not all millionaires are big winners, as most became rich through inheritance. He calls on politicians to drastically increase taxes on the rich in order to spend the money on the country's pressing problems - for example, on infrastructure or education. We get a glimpse of the everyday life of pupils at the elite Salem boarding school. Wealthy people spend tens of thousands of euros a year so that their children can attend this school. Here, they must learn the importance of responsibility in order to be able to run family businesses later on. After all, hundreds of thousands of companies in Germany are now being taken over by the next generation. The super-rich are living longer and enjoying tax breaks. Since 1996, the German state has lost 380 billion euros due to the suspension of the wealth tax.
