Dobong on May 5, 2002. (Audio-video correction subtitle version) Sermon video provided by: Bonjeong Kim Yeong-dong, Sermon recording: Jihyerim Lee Ju-mi The path to the happiness of Buddhahood (The method of receiving great merit from the chanting of NamuAmitabhaBuddha) I hope all of you Buddhists think deeply about this. We sentient beings are, unfortunately, reaping what we sow, and because of the afflictions we have created, we do not realize that the universe is the Pure Land and the Lotus Sutra World. That is why we call ourselves ordinary people, making ourselves ordinary people and polluting the world ourselves. What is the most poisonous thing in this world? It is the three poisonous minds of our sentient beings. Well, things are poisonous, and things are poisonous, but those are only a small part. It is the three poisonous minds that fundamentally pollute the universe. Greed, or the bulging anger, or the ignorance that cannot see the reality of the universe. These three are the most terrible poisons in the universe. When we sentient beings realize the true nature of Buddha and become one with the true nature of Buddha, then we become Buddhas and saints. If we are blocked by the three poisonous minds and cannot realize it, as I said before, we are hell, hungry ghosts, animals, Asuras, humans, heaven, sravakas, Bodhisattvas, and we reincarnate in these places. What is the purpose of our lives? If we escape from those three poisons and escape from the cycle of reincarnation in the world of sentient beings, the world of eternal liberation, the world of liberation is the world of law and paradise. The universe is filled with the Buddha's vows. In Buddhist terms, it is the original vow, the fundamental original character, the wish, the original vow. Therefore, even if you recite the Buddha's name, if you think that the Buddha is guiding all beings in the universe to the path of fundamental Buddhahood, the merit of reciting the Buddha's name is much greater. ▶ Smartphone app: Buddhist sermons by the great monk Cheonghwa and Namu Amitabha Buddha's name https://play.google.com/store/apps/de... ▶ Muju Seonwon, the home of the mind with Amitabha Buddha https://cafe.daum.net/mujuseonwon
