Dive into the waters of the Muránská Planina with our third educational video: Water was one of the topics of our educational workshops for future guides on the Muránská Planina. So, together with the lecturers and course participants, we went to see how the Muráň and Hron rivers live. From hydrobiologist Tomáš Derk, you will learn why it is so important that our mountains drain into the lowlands, including how river floodplains were formed after the last ice age. And here you will also find a small crash course in identifying small aquatic invertebrates. Zoologist Tomáš Iľko drew us into the underwater world and talked not only about fish... Do you know lampreys? And how, cunningly caught on trout, they overcame migration barriers on the river? Botanist Juditka Kochjarová talks about why wetlands are so important to our world and what plants depend on this world. This video was also created thanks to the project Supporting the Development of Nature Tourism on the Muránská Plain, which is supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic.
