He was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bragança Paulista from 1982 to 1984 and has been the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Vitória since 1985. He is also a member of the Brazilian Evangelical Academy of Letters, executive director of Luz para o Caminho, in Campinas, and a collaborating pastor at the Pinheiros Presbyterian Church in São Paulo.
