Weather conditions and behind-the-scenes diplomatic games pushed the Greek army to its limits, while at the same time, in the besieged city suffering from hunger, another war was taking place, underground and equally dangerous: the war of spies. Men and women of all classes, ignored the gallows of the Turks and were recruited into the spy network.
