Today we look at the seventy-year history of the tunnel under Brzezinka Mountain in Wałbrzych on railway line 274 from Wrocław to Zgorzelec. We look at how nature was dealt with for decades and how this battle was finally lost. I invite you on a journey through engineering hell, where mining interfered with rail transport and vice versa, and the search for solutions took 70 years. It must be remembered that the tunnel was located on a line that was part of the planned Central Berlin-Vienna Railway, similarly to the tunnels under Wołowiec, Sajdak and Świerkowa Kopa. The subject of maintaining traffic in the tunnel was therefore treated as a priority. #wałbrzych #railway #history
