This is a true story. We have not heard this story before. It is not found in Majmoo’ al-Fatawa or Jami’ al-Masa’il, the project that our Sheikh, the scholar Bakr Abu Zayd, may Allah have mercy on him, was based on. Why? Because it was found in a manuscript, and the strange thing is that this manuscript has not been found. However, it is true and proven. I have personally examined the manuscript and copied this story from it. I have attached the story written below the video. This story was presented to Sheikh Mashhour bin Hassan, and the one who narrates it is a contemporary of Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him. Its narrator is the Shafi’i jurist Sheikh / Abu al-Abbas Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Mahmoud bin Ismail bin Murad al-Ba’labaki al-Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him. He even went to Sheikh al-Islam and asked him about it himself, and confirmed it directly from Ibn Taymiyyah himself! We will also see a story that will change the opinions of many scholars on the issue of dealing with jinn.. and their attribution of this statement to Ibn Taymiyyah, may God have mercy on him.
