The start of Qbuzz in the South Holland region was chaotic. After the bankruptcy of Hool, another supplier had to be found for some of the new electric buses, which became the Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong. Another part of the gap that was created by this was filled by second-hand VDL Citeas from Reykjavik and Berlin and a series of Hybrid Volvos from Norway. To make matters worse, it became clear at the last minute that the other supplier of electric buses, Iveco, had major delays in delivering the buses. At the drop of a hat, they searched high and low for available buses. With a colorful fleet of old buses, party buses and coaches, the service was started up as best they could. At the end of December, a number of ex-Arriva Citeas returned to the area to replace these buses.
