The first chapter of the new documentary series 'El Secret de les Pedres' is dedicated to the Cathedral of Mallorca, one of the best-known buildings in all the Balearic Islands. The program transports us to the key moments of its construction, to the unknown anecdotes, and to the secrets hidden between the walls of the Cathedral of Mallorca. The Cathedral, due to its complexity and importance, has been present during various periods of our history: from the time of the conquest to its last reform. This great work, which took 300 years to complete, serves as a plot thread to explain the most interesting moments in the history of Mallorca. The viewer will see how this Gothic building was built and the technical complexities they faced, based on 3D recreations of the process, images that are completely new to the IB3 viewer. You will also be able to see how King Jaume (played by Joan Miquel Artigues) fulfills his promise to build a temple after saving himself from a storm, a temple that he will build on an old Muslim mosque. You will also witness the moment when Gaudí abandoned the reform, and you will learn first-hand some stories such as that of the walled-in woman, who lived 10 years within the walls of the Seu, or den Bassa and Rostit, who defended the keys of the Alaró Castle and who today rest in the Cathedral, along with the 5000 souls who drowned in 1403... The space that is being premiered is presented by Dani Bagur and produced by the Menorcan production company Empatic Films, the production company that made the documentary series Menorca Britànica that showed the British past of the island and which collected excellent audience numbers on IB3.
