The Second Republic was a democratic dream that was proclaimed 90 years ago without violence. The Monarchy was not brought down by a war, but by its inability to offer a transition from a cacique regime to a reformist one. The departure of Alfonso XIII into exile became a mass celebration in the big Spanish cities, Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia or Seville, but also in the small ones, the people took to the streets.
