In the history of the Ottoman Empire, we witness some scenes repeated throughout the dynasty, such as the murder of the sultan's sons by their own father, out of concern that a revolt would arise around this son, who comes from the same father, of the same blood. In this scene, recently shown in the novel by MUHTESEM YUZYIL, on February 15, 2014, we witness the murder of the eldest son of Sultan Suleiman, who was over 60 years old. This event took place near the district of Konya, in 1553. According to history, we know that the sultan's relatives had told the sultan some gossip that Sehzade Mustafa was assembling a large army and wanted to revolt, trusting in his charisma spread among the janissaries. They say that he is loved by the soldiers for his courage, patriotism and also for his military skills. Among the gossips, the name of one of Sultan Suleiman's wives, called Roxenalana, who was the mother of two other sons of the Sultan and supposedly the Sultan's next mother, is also mentioned. The gossip reached the Sultan's ear so many times that in the end, he could not bear it and wanted to call him to meet with his anger in Iran, Sultan Suleiman's greatest rival and most dangerous enemy. En route to Iran, Sultan Suleiman called his son to obey him, but before he arrived and presented his obedience, the Sultan made the decision to kill him, according to the news broadcasts. The eldest son Mustafa enters the Sultan's tent, and the seven mute and deaf executioners attack the Sultan's son and tie him to a silk rope.
