Its story begins with a Portuguese immigrant named Valentim Diniz who came to try his luck in Brazil in the late 1920s. A born entrepreneur, Valentim knew how to take advantage of the opportunities that life gave him and made his company grow. But he didn't do it alone, Abilio Diniz, his son, played a very important role in this story. The Pão de Açucar chain became the largest in Brazil in the 1980s, but a series of problems led the company to almost bankruptcy. Abilio managed to save his family's company, but one of his choices would be relentless with him in the future and would take the Diniz family out of Pão de Açucar. But the story didn't stop there...
