Although most of it is preserved in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, a few fragments are preserved in situ After listing the different exhibition locations, the apsidal basin with Christ in majesty is described, giving its sources biblical and the meaning of its representation, synthesized in the ideas of creation, revelation and salvation. Aspects such as the inscription of the book in his hands, the drawing of the face, the eyes, the clothes, the alpha and the omega, as well as the tetramorph and the two seraphim with six pairs of wings full of eyes From the intermediate level, with Saints Thomas, Bartholomew, John, James and Philip, the representation of the Virgin Mary is emphasized and the various interpretations of her function and meaning are considered, establishing a connection with the Last Judgment. The lower level, badly damaged, is where the curtains and other ornamental elements (borders...) the white surface of the book with that of the raised arm, and the play of triangles (uniting the nimbus of the characters on the right and left of the mandorla, the figure of Christ from the waist to the nimbus) or of circles (mandorla, archings of the central space, circles of the apostles, nimbus). Due to the fact that it is a highly decorative set, special mention is made of the ornamental aspects and the type of pigments. After the apsidal basin, the elements of the two presbyteral arches are considered, the one centered on the Agnus Dei and the one centered on the Dextera Domini. In the first, the scene of poor Lazarus stands out, evoking salvation and the separation between the righteous and the condemned in the final judgment. In the second, the story of Cain and Abel, placed in a prominent place given the consideration of Abel as a foreshadowing of Jesus and his violent death at the hands of Cain as a foreshadowing of the Passion and death of Christ on the cross . From the north lateral apse, the angelic choir is described, showing that the pictorial technique is poor, denoting a certain primitivism and a lower quality than the central one. The complexity of the pictorial ensemble of Saint Climent de Taüll requires a brief foray into the different studies and interpretations of the main experts on the subject. In relation to the dating of the paintings, the inscription on the consecration of the church located on the north side of the church, closest to the apse, is commented on, and is completed with a tour of the paintings that are in situ .
