The bridge during the Roman period was destroyed by earthquakes and later a new bridge was built on the ruins of the old bridge by the Seljuks in the 13th century. It was rebuilt between 1219-1236, when Antalya was important for the Seljuks, during the reign of Alaeddin Keykubat to provide transportation on the coast. Stones from the structures of the nearby ancient city of Aspendos were also used in its construction. The historical bridge is 225 meters long and stands as a wonderful work that is closed to vehicle traffic and is visited by local and foreign visitors. Köprüpazar Bridge is a pointed arch bridge built by the Seljuk Dynasty in the 13th century on the foundations of the 9-arched Eurymedon Bridge, which crosses the Köprüçay (Eurymedon) River near Aspendos, Turkey, dating from the Roman period. Since the bridge follows the footing remains of the old Roman structure in the river bed, there are significant deviations in the middle of the route. The bridge is 259.50 meters long and 9.44 meters wide. The columns are 9.60 meters thick and the arch span is 23.52 meters.
