Puigmal is one of the most emblematic peaks in Catalonia. Straddling Ripollès and Cerdanya, its 2,910 metres make it the highest mountain in the Girona Pyrenees. These lands have been a place of pasture, religious pilgrimage, thermal tourism and the cradle of Catalan hiking. But where does the name Puigmal come from? Do we know who was the first to climb it? How has its surroundings evolved in the last 150 years? In this project we approach Puigmal and discover its mountain stories.
