As musicians we must master several types of guitar scales, major, minor, pentatonic, modes, among others, usually a vocabulary of 21 different types is what is considered necessary. This may seem a bit overwhelming at first, especially when what we are looking for is to learn the scales by note and not by fingering. What we are going to do initially is study the scales in patterns of two notes, three notes and four notes per string, starting from any note of the scale, not necessarily the tonic, with this we seek to learn by note, improve placement and not resort to fingerings. If you want to study guitar scales, you can also work by root, the same principle, but from the fifth, fourth and third strings. For the order of the scales on the guitar, we will start with the C scale, since it has no accidentals, then we will add one alteration at a time, going through the G and F scales. The objective is to add one scale each day until we can do the fifteen, with the benefit that in each work we will also do the Greek modes and other guitar scales.
