The palliative care unit cares for patients who are suffering from an advanced illness and for whom our medicine can no longer promise a cure. The reasons for admission to the palliative care unit are acute problems as a result of these illnesses. These can be physical, mental, social and spiritual problems that cannot be managed on an outpatient basis. A team of specially trained doctors, nurses, psychologists, therapists and pastors strive to address this.
