Jean-Loïc Le Quellec, emeritus research director at the Institute of African Worlds (CNRS), is an anthropologist and prehistorian. He is the author of 40 books, including Rock Arts and Mythologies in Africa (Flammarion, 2004), The Critical Dictionary of Mythology (with Bernard Sergent, CNRS Éditions, 2017) and, most recently, Man of Lascaux (Totem, 2018).
