The Continuation War began as part of Germany's Operation Barbarossa. Unlike Germany, however, Finland stopped advancing deeper into Soviet territory. In places this happened in August-September 1941 and finally the offensive phase was concluded in early December. Why did Finland do this? Why did Finland not continue the offensive further?
