Hello friends, welcome to Happy Learning. Today we are going to learn about... nouns. Nouns are the words we use to name people, animals, objects, plants, ideas, feelings, etc., etc. Since there are so many nouns, we classify them according to their meaning as: Common or proper. Individual or collective. Concrete or abstract and Countable or non-countable. Let's get to know them a little better. Graphic: Common or proper nouns Common nouns are those that refer to beings or objects in general. For example, child, shark or cloud. Proper nouns refer to beings or objects but differentiating them from the others, for example Daniela or Tobi, which is what my dog is called. Graphic: Individual or collective nouns. Individual nouns designate, in the singular, a single being or object. For example, cat, ball or bicycle. Collective nouns name a group of beings or things in the singular, such as a flock, which refers to many sheep together, or a herd, which refers to, for example, many lions together. Graphic: Concrete or abstract nouns Concrete nouns are words that refer to beings or objects that belong to the physical world, such as an airplane, rain, or motorcycle. Abstract nouns are words that do not belong to the physical world and refer to ideas or feelings such as joy, sadness, or beauty. Graphic: Countable or non-countable nouns Countable nouns designate something that can be counted, such as a dolphin (one dolphin), a monkey (two monkeys), or a chair (three chairs). Non-countable nouns refer to something that cannot be counted, such as wind, sand, or music. Hmm, I love to sing… (Singing) Happy Learning tararará (jingle).
