Beyond the unpleasant appearance of cyanobacteria in our marine aquarium, their presence tells us a lot about the quality of the aquarium water. The best cure against cyanobacteria is prevention, by carrying out regular tests to prevent nitrates and phosphates from going out of parameters and from the reciprocal balance in which they should be. Cyanobacteria are always present in our aquariums and are always looking for a trigger to appear and spread throughout the aquarium, irritating soft and hard corals. Today we will see the reasons why they appear, how we can prevent them from appearing and if they do appear, how we can control them.
