It is difficult both because of its volume and because of its illogicality. I suppose some of you tried to understand the rule on your own for the sake of competent writing and good grades at school... But how many of you asked the question: why is the rule as intricate as it is? General considerations suggest that a complex system could not have arisen at one time and out of nowhere. At one time, most likely, this place of Russian spelling was arranged simply and intuitively clear... Is it really so? Why did the rule about one/two N's become the most difficult? Who came up with it? Were there intra-linguistic reasons for it, or is the rule a case of purely orthographic thought? — Today's video provides answers to all these questions for inquisitive minds!
