KH Djazuli Utsman was born on May 16, 1900 in Kediri, East Java. His name is remembered primarily as the founder of the Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School, Ploso, in the local area. Here are some brief facts about him: Life History and Family: KH Djazuli Utsman was the son of Raden Mas Muhammad Utsman, a local sub-district head. His mother was Mas Ajeng Muntaqinah, who was a descendant of a missionary. Djazuli grew up in the care of religious and educated parents. He received formal education starting from the People's School to the Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs (MULO) and the Hollandsch-Inlandsche School (HIS). He also studied at the Native Medical School (STOVIA) in Batavia (Jakarta). Journey to the Islamic Boarding School: Although he had completed his higher education in Batavia, Djazuli received advice from the cleric KH Muhammad Ma'ruf to return to the Islamic boarding school and deepen his religious knowledge. He studied at various Islamic boarding schools around the Kediri Residency, studying tajwid, Arabic grammar, and sharrof. The Islamic boarding school founded by KH Ali Imron in Mojosari, Nganjuk, became his place of residence. While at the Mojosari Islamic Boarding School, Djazuli lived very simply and repaired used yellow books to support his living expenses at the boarding school. Death: KH Djazuli Utsman died on January 10, 1976 in Ploso, Kediri.
