FUNDEP/IEAT CHAIRS Program Major Conference of the IEAT 25th Anniversary Cycle Theme: Mobility and materiality of texts in the era of digital reproducibility Guest: Roger Chartier - Collège de France Date: September 27, 2024 - 10 am Location: UFMG Rectory Auditorium Opening panel: Patrícia Kauark Leite (Director of IEAT/UFMG). Mediation: Ana Utsch - School of Fine Arts of UFMG. The conference aims to explore the contemporary challenges imposed by digital culture. Taking as a starting point the concept of textual mobility and five categories that transcend the limits of the text (attribution, variants, materiality, migration between genres and languages, and reading practices), Roger Chartier will discuss the transformations brought about by the digitization of documentary sources and their implications for research practices. The conference will discuss both the transformations of graphic-editorial aspects and the radical changes in the uses given to texts, as well as the ways of organizing and preserving written culture and the symbolic statutes of scientific work.
