It began after the declaration of the Plan of San Luis de Potosí by the revolutionary Francisco Madero who motivated hundreds of people and revolutionaries such as Pancho Villa, Emiliano Zapata, Venustiano Carranza, Alvaro Obregón and others to take up arms and rise up against Porfirio Díaz who had led Mexico for the last 30 years.
