After almost 4 years, this baby is on cloud nine. This rice is finally cooked. I am so happy to share this with you, especially if you are from the beautiful city of Coatzacoalcos Veracruz, my lovely town. Memela is my favorite Veracruz dish, it contains everything I like most about Mexican flavors. Meeting these two women, Carmen and Doña Conchita has been one of the greatest pleasures for me, because they made this documentary look and feel so much better than I had in mind. I thank God, my family and friends who told me 4 years ago, "Rebeca, I believe in you and this documentary is proof that this is your thing" and that inspires me to continue creating. You don't know how much satisfaction I feel being able to share this with the world now.
