In this video, I will teach you how to make a Bouyricou, a wicker basket with a unique weaving technique but which is little known these days, in fact this know-how of a few often elderly people does not interest the children or grandchildren of the latter; Or these people (who master this weaving), do not want to teach it, which I find a shame. Sharing know-how and knowledge has always been part of our history. So I decided to make a small series of videos (2 or 3), to limit the duration of each assembly to about 15 minutes. I also wanted to tell you that I am not a professional in basketry and that I may not have the precise terms to designate this or that stage of the manufacturing, so a little indulgence on this point, this video is royalty-free, and can be shared. On the other hand, variations to this very old braiding technique may exist, but which basically remain the same, and I do not claim to teach the unique method of braiding Bouyricou. This is the method that my father-in-law Elois taught me, originally from Lolme, a small village near Monpazier in the Dordogne. This wicker basket that has its place in a vegetable garden, and so little known, that it deserves a little interest. The music used for this video is royalty-free: Tristan Lohengrin • Video
