Samuel Kelvin Peralta Sosa, better known as Sammy Sosa or the Bambino of the Caribbean, is a former professional major league player of Dominican origin who played as a right fielder. Sosa was born on November 12, 1968 in the town of San Pedro de Macorís, in the Dominican Republic, so he is 54 years old today. Sosa developed most of his career with the Chicago Cubs, his career in the major leagues began with the Texas Rangers in 1989, being signed by them as an amateur in 1985.
