The beginning of the construction of the Alahan Panjang Solok Pessel road was pioneered by the former regent of Solok/former governor of West Sumatra, namely Mr. Gamawan Fauzi. But unfortunately at the end of his term of office, both as regent of Solok and as governor of West Sumatra, the opening of an alternative road section which would later be projected as a state road between Alahan Panjang in Solok Regency to Pasar Baru, Pesisir Selatan Regency was a delayed dream. Gamawan Fauzi, who once served as regent of Solok Regency (term of office 1995-2005). In the past, the Regent of Solok Gamawan Fauzi walked from Bayang Pessel through the wilderness of Alahan Panjang, more on the mission of the relocation program. A total of 136 families of people living in Sariek Bayang village were then moved to Rimbo Data, Lembah Gumanti sub-district. He considered that this natural condition was very dangerous for the safety of local residents. Isolation from other areas also makes this area very difficult to develop in the field of development such as in the social, economic, and cultural fields. Sariak Bayang Village has long been far behind in education because access to the village is difficult. So it can be said that in general the people of Sariak Bayang Village cannot get formal education from elementary school to college. Until in 1995, based on his experience in traveling to Sariak Bayang Village, Gamawan Fauzi took the initiative to relocate the population to the area in Kenagarian Sungai Nanam Alahan Panjang, Lembah Gumanti District, Solok Regency. The naming of the village the same as the area of origin had been agreed upon in advance, they did not want to change the name of the village in the new settlement, because so that they would not feel awkward in the new settlement and feel a sense of ownership, and could immortalize the name of the area of origin they had left. Sariak Bayang Village was inaugurated on April 21, 1997 by the Minister of Transmigration Siswono Yudohusodo who was in office at that time and became the 15th village in Kenagarian Sungai Nanam. The government program to relocate the population in 1995 was approved by the Sariak Bayang community. Their motivation to agree to this transmigration is the hope to improve socio-economic conditions, especially in the field of education. In addition, the guarantee of permanent housing, land ownership and food needs for one year provided by the government attracts the interest of a number of prospective transmigrants. #jalansolokpessel
