In the spring of 711, a Muslim army led by Tariq, governor of Tangier and vassal of Musa ibn Nusair, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar and began the conquest of Spain. For seven centuries, Islam would dominate part of the Iberian Peninsula. When Tariq set foot on Spanish soil, the Visigoth king Rodrigo confronted him in the battle of the Guadalete River, later known as La Janda, where he lost his life. The story of the end of the Gothic kings who had ruled Spain since the fall of the Western Roman Empire, of the first birth of Spain and its disappearance as a consequence of the victory of the warriors of Islam, has never been told in images, and with exact and reliable data, by the best specialists in this almost unknown part of our History. For this reason, this documentary is a narrative of undoubted scientific interest and of high dissemination. Documentary directed by Luis E.
