Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, where the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Kanazawa and Tsuruga is expected to have no effect, is facing problems as the disappearance of conventional express trains has caused inconvenience. The city was a stop for Thunderbird and Shirasagi, but trains to Osaka and Nagoya have disappeared, and the Hapi Line Fukui has caused many disadvantages with fare increases. On the other hand, there is no Shinkansen station within the city. The nearest stations are Fukui Station or Echizen Takefu Station, but they are far from Sabae Station.
