Missionary Seo Seo-pyeong (real name: Elisabeth Johanna Shepping) came to Joseon as a single female missionary about 100 years ago, and was called 'Little Jesus', and lived a life serving orphans and lepers. At the young age of 32, she set foot on Joseon as a nurse and missionary, and devoted her life to orphans and homeless people. Even though her body was broken by tuberculosis, she worried about the starving Joseon people more than her own health, and she was sad that she could not fully spread the gospel. Even now, 85 years after her last breath, Gwangju remembers her as 'Gwangju's Mother' and 'Mother of Hansen's Disease'. Her last remaining message was 'Not Success but Service'. We introduce missionary Seo Seo-pyeong, one of the saints who resembled the image of Christ.
