October 13, 1991 was the end of the season and also the last day of operation for the Almetalbahn museum trains between Bad Salzdetfurth, Bodenburg and Almstedt after 15 years. However, no one at the time seriously expected that there would be no more public trips on the Almetal in the following season in 1992 due to the dilapidated condition of the track. And so this gloomy October day in 1991 marked (for the time being) the end of an entire museum railway era in the Hildesheim district. So enjoy the last day of operation. Have fun. For many years now (despite the line being closed), the Almetalbahn station festivals have established themselves as a permanent fixture in the local museum railway scene.
